Whether you are fitting out a new facility or upgrading an existing building, a clear brief helps your project team understand the intended use of the space.
Explain what is changing
Describe the new equipment, additional rooms or operational changes behind the upgrade. Share available drawings, equipment information and the issues you want addressed. Ask the engineering team to assess the existing installation before agreeing the final scope.
Plan around your operations
Explain working hours, access arrangements and any periods when work would be particularly disruptive. Agree who will coordinate access and communicate planned interruptions to the people using the building.
Agree the handover
Discuss the inspections, testing, documentation and user guidance expected at completion. Ask for the proposal to distinguish included work from optional items. Electrical work should be handled by suitably qualified professionals; this planning checklist is not an installation guide.
